Tasting Notes: 

Nose : Typical soft peat aromas, lime and pear drops, complex for age.


Palate : Sweetness first, soft peaty smoke and ripe fruity notes.


Finish : Long and clean with peat smoke and soft citrus fruits arriving later.

 

Auchentoshan Three Wood “Old Style”

Journey back to the mid-2000s, a time when Auchentoshan Three Wood continued to captivate whisky aficionados with its unparalleled complexity and character. Bottled during this era, Auchentoshan Three Wood from the mid-2000s represents a shining example of the distillery's commitment to excellence and innovation. The modern adaptation vary very little from this style and is one of our favourites. 

Tripled distilled then matured in American bourbon oak casks. The whisky is then finished in Spanish Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Blackcurrant, brown sugar, orange, plum and raisin.


Palate: Fruit and syrup. Hazelnut with hints of cinnamon and lemon. A butterscotch sweetness adds to the overall complexity.

 Glen Moray Port Wood 25 Year Old 1988

Velvety notes of dark fruits and chocolate intertwine with hints of caramel and spice, creating a symphony of taste that lingers long after the glass is empty. The influence of the port wood casks adds a luxurious richness and depth, elevating this whisky to a level of unparalleled elegance.

Tasting Notes: 

Nose : Childhood memories of visits to the sweet shop come flooding back. Tropical fruits, barley sugars and nougat sitting on a counter of seasoned oak. Almost too much to choose from but finally you choose two old favourites homemade rich butter fudge and chewy caramel. Warm and comforting.


Palate : The cask influence really comes to the fore. Sweet vanilla, salted caramel and subtle oak from ex Bourbon cask are all there to enjoy. The vintage Tawny Port pipe adds a different dimension, gently soothing the taste buds with mature fruit and warm spice.Complex but reassuringly smooth and fulfilling.


Finish : A fond farewell, satisfyingly long and smooth. The sweetness fades gently taking with it layers of spiced oak and toasted brown sugar. A fitting end to a truly elegant and perfectly balanced whisky.
