This region offers a wide range of tastes and styles.
The largest whisky region from Wick in the north to the Old Highland Line in the south. Firth of Tay to the Firth of Clyde.
Going north of Inverness there is: Glen Ord, Teaninich, Dalmore, Balblair, Glenmorangie, Clynelish, Old Pulteney. with the new Wolfburn starting up near Thurso.
East Coast district, Aberdeen heading South; GlenDronach, AnCnoc,Glen Garioch, Ardmore, Royal Lochnagar (Balmoral), Fettercairn, Glencadam. The new Arbikie near Arbroath.
Bordering the Highland line North of Glasgow: Glengoyne, Loch Lomond, Deanston. With towards Perth, Tullibardine and the new Strathearn, stock maturing,
On the mainland West Coast there are only two remaining: Oban and Ben Nevis. However further up the coast the new Glenbeg at Ardnamurchan has just gone into production.
The central Perthshire? distilleries south of the Cairngorms include; Aberfeldy, Blair Athol, Edradour, Glenturret. Then up the A9 to Dalwhinnie, Tomatin and Royal Brackla east of Inverness.
