Durham Gin uses a unique recipe of 10 different botanicals which include Juniper, Celery Seed, Elderflower and Pink Peppercorns.
Durham Gin Tasting Notes;
Nose; Soft and slightly floral with a mix of Juniper, Elderflower and Pink Peppercorns. Notice the difference between this Gin and more traditional Gins which have a more perfumed nose.
Palate; A mix of traditional Gin flavours like Orris and Angelica, with some hints of Cardamom. There are citrus notes which come from Orange and Lemon peel as well as from Coriander seed.
Durham Gin Distillery.
Located in the old ex-colliery village of Langley Park about 3 miles from Durham City centre.
The 400 Litre Copper Pot Still called Lily was handmade in Portugal and has a gin basket, which is used to hold some of the botanicals. It also uses the traditional worm tub cooling system, this turns the vapour into gin.
