Bruichladdich Octomore 02.1 Edition
62.5% Cask Strength, 70cl.
An obsolete bottling of Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
On release, it was the most heavily peated whisky in the world at PPM : 140.
Named after James Brown’s Octomore Farm near Port Charlotte, itself once housed a still.
The men who tended the fires at Octomore would have grown the barley on their land. Cut the peat from their banks. Distilling a heavily peated spirit and sold very young.
These whiskies are an experiment into what would happen if heavily peated malted barley ran through the tall narrowed neck stills of Bruichladdich.
