Dalwhinnie produces a welcoming gentle spirit that’s full of character.

Dalwhinnie 15 year old Malt Whisky Tasting Notes;

Strength: 43% Abv.
Appearance: Gold.

Nose: A big, crisp, dry and very aromatic nose with hints of heather and peat.

Body: Light to medium.

Palate: Smooth, soft and lasting flavours of heather. Honey sweetness and vanilla followed by deeper citrus-fruit flavours and hints of malted bread.

Finish: Long, lingering, surprisingly intense finish that starts sweetly, then gives way to smoke, peat and malt.

Dalwhinnie Malt Whisky Distillery History.

The Dalwhinnie distillery is the highest in altitude of the Scottish distilleries at 1057 feet above sea-level.

The pure abundant water from the Lochan an Doirre-uaine, high in the mountains. An ample supply of peat and good communications by road and rail. Where deciding factors in building the distillery at Dalwhinnie in 1898.

The distillery was founded by a partnership of: John Grant (solicitor) Alex Mackenzie, who designed the distillery and George Sellar (Grocer).
