Timorous Beastie Malt Whisky. By Douglas Laing.
Highland Blended Malt Small Batch Release.
Douglas Laing’s Timorous Beastie, immortalised in Robert Burns’ famous Scots poem “To a Mouse”, was a timid, little field mouse.
Echoing our national bard’s wit, ours is most certainly not for the fainthearted!
This non coloured, non-chill-filtered Small Batch bottling is a marriage of Highland malts including: Blair Athol, Glen Garioch, Dalmore & Glengoyne Distilleries.
Timorous Beastie Malt Whisky Tasting Notes;
Incredibly sweet on the nose, with light floral and spicy honey tones. The palate is spicy, and sugary, carrying notes of raisin fudge, with a sweet yet subtle finish.
The nose is overridingly sweet initially, then warming to floral, light barley & spicyhoney’d tones.
The palate opens in a spicy style – now fructiferous, mellow, sugary & soft raisin-fudge-y.
The finish is subtle yet sweet – detect a soft cough drop camphor/oaky hint plus milky cereals & late meringue.
