Arran The Devils Punch Bowl Chapter II

Arran The Devils Punch Bowl Chapter II is a true contrast of light and shade hence the title “Angels & Devils”. The 1997 and 1998 hogsheads chosen provide the foundation of this whisky and add rich and satisfying depth. These are the finest ex-Oloroso Spanish Oak casks and their influence is unmistakable with a distinctive spicy character and notes of cigar box and dark chocolate.

If the sherry casks are the darkness then the 2002 barrels bring a ray of sunshine to proceedings with soft vanilla notes and more of the tropical Arran citrus emerging, especially with a dash of water.

Finally the oldest Peated Arran casks from 2004 bring an earthiness not found in other releases of The Arran Malt and add further complexity to this intriguing concoction.

The Devil’s Punchbowl Series is a trilogy of limited edition single malt whiskies.

Which started in summer 2012 with the final release in 2014.

It is a blend of some of the finest Arran casks from over the years. Personally selected by Distillery Manager James MacTaggart.
